I have had the priveledge of shooting several of my clients more than once. It's always a pleasure to see people change and visually watch their children grow as I shoot them each year. Anthony and Callie were no exception as it had been two years since I'd last had the opportunity to shoot them. The oldest daughter Claire, was under a year old and Annabelle hadn't been born yet.
We set out to the last location of trees still holding onto their colorful leaves for a portrait session. Both Claire and Annabelle were all over the place, however when photographing children we have to take what they are willing to give us. Sometimes the proper poses don't make the best images. Allowing children to be themselves and simply shooting can provide some great results.

Big Ben - Dok,
All these images were shot with a simple one light setup. This included a single strobe and a large 63" Reflective Umbrella. I merely balanced the ambient exposure to the flash exposure for a close-balanced light ratio.- Hence the more natural, non-edgy look.

Big Ben - These were shot on an APS-C camera with a combination of the Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 and the Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6
For the money the 70-300 has been a great lens for my D300, and works well with the full frame D800
